Default New Parks Canada Fee Broken Islands Group 2018

Parks Canada will be applying a Pacific Rim National Park Annual Pass fee for adult users (different from reservation and trail use fee) in 2018. I am not sure if you can purchase it at the trail office - call them to find out. You can purchase the pass online.

The pass will also be necessary for WCT and Pac Rim.

It's not a new fee, it's a new pass that can save you money - visiting just this Park. You always had to pay entry for Pacific Rim (= basically have a general National Park Pass). By the way the general pass for two or more is 20 percent off at the moment, order online.

My intention was not to parse words (fee or pass) but to advise WCT hikers of new "charge" that awaits them. Interested parties can debate the pros and cons of instituting the National park Pass.

As a point of information, hikers on the WCT did not always have to purchase a pass. Only in Trump world is paying for a pass that you did not have to pay before, a savings.

Park employee?

I thought a pass (or entry fee for the park) was required anyway also for the WCT - seems to be not the case. But visiting Pacific Rim elsewhere required a pass/entry.

The Canada Discovery Pass (National Park pass) is required for entry to the WCT, same as last year, except it was #150Free , now it's $7.50/day or $67.50/Year.

There are 2 fees in place - the overnight camping fee + reservation at approx $150 Plus the National Park fee of approx $68.

Also new for 2018 - Standby spaces are no longer available, all spaces must be reserved.
