Default Widgeon Monday Aug 1st???

I am thinking of taking a paddle out to Widgeon on Monday morning. I have not been to the area before but have read good things about it. I live in Abbotsford and need to be home early afternoon. If anyone is interested in a morning out or has tips, please post up.

I will be paddling a 16 ft Clipper Scout solo or with my dog.

What a beautiful day to get out for a paddle and a short hike. Thank you to the group of eight that let me tag along with them. Was great to meet them and good conversation.

Things were ideal in the morning on the way out. Flat water and only a few people out on it. The way back was a slightly different story. slight breeze that was no problem at all and a few waves from the power boats that were also not a concern. Where the difference came in was the number of canoes and kayaks that had made their way to the camp site and were still on their way there. It was nice to see all the smiling faces and beautiful weather.

I love that there is such a great place so close to home.

I'm going over there Thursday morning for a camping trip with my grand daughter. I go there a few times a year and find it quite kid friendly. A nice quiet paddle and lots of places to swim.

If you're feeling charitable please pack some of the garbage out of that area. Such a disgrace people would leave garbage somewhere like this when putting it in the canoe and walking in 20 feet once at the boat launch would be very little effort.

Agree, this is a beautiful place. And a shame to those who would load it with leftover garbage.

I went over Thursday and there were only 2 other camp spots taken and several day hikers. The camp sites were very clean and only a couple of pieces of garbage. I assume parks people do a cleanup during the week. We picked up the few bits we saw.
Lovely overnighter. My grandaughters first camping and canoeing trip. Played in the water at the falls for hours and had a pleasant time.
