This shot was taken early in the morning on the Athabasca River, south east of Whitecourt, AB. An overcast morning with a sliver of sunshine that lit up the poplar and aspen. Hope ya like it!

I have to share these pics of one of my favourite "local" areas in Alberta!
This one I didn't even have to hike for!

Took this from my den window yesterday morning.
The trees here are just starting to change.

Hi backpacker_029,
All this and much much more can be found just east of Banff National Park in the front ranges of the Rockies!

Thanks JRHIKE,

I can't wait to check out that entire area soon. Last time I was there, I was only 14 so I don't remember too much, but I'm going on a really long BC/Alberta camping (probably even some backpacking) trip sometime in the next 2 years with some buddies. Also, I love the pictures on your homepage. Racehorse Pass is a beautiful region!

Here is a pic I took last September 2003 of Mt. Shuksan in Northwest Washington state. My first time there and man, what a beautiful area! I am planning a trip back there this autumn if I can.

Thanks for the compliments. I am still learning the art and techniques of photography (still consider myself VERY amateur) but this area really made it easy to shoot awesome scenery. If you haven't visited there, you gotta go sometime. There are jaw dropping scenes a-plenty. Here is another pic I took that same late-afternoon at the same little lake but just from a slightly different vantage point.
