Default Debating on heading into Skyline Trail in Jasper

I have a trip booked for the Skyline trail this year!! But, the trail report form Jasper is not favorable for this trip! I have done this trip twice before years ago. I also have a newbe with me heading in to this trip! Not sure how they will handle the hardship of upper elevation with snow and cold.

We have also created a plan B in Kananaskis in case the weather report changes! I am hearing things like there are crazy snow squalls and people having to get choppers up there to pull them off of the mountain! I feel trepidation about the trip!

Is there anyone who has been in the Skyline trail for the 2020 season? I am leaning to not heading in there with someone who is really just getting started with hiking!

Happy Trails and hope you enjoy the 2020 season!!

When are you planning on going? Unless it's in the near future I wouldn't worry about current conditions.
Note that PC is extremely conservative and their ideal would be for no one to hike - their assessments of trail conditions usually reflect that.
