Just a heads up for anyone who's thinking about any of the climbs around the northern winter gate on highway 40 (near the Kananaskis Lakes) --
I did King Creek Ridge on September 11, and it's all snow above the trees. Total whiteout the day we climbed, and it seems like enough accumulation to suspect that it won't be melting away after a few nice days. It was ankle deep near the summit, and things were getting very slippery on the slopes.
Time to make sure that you pack winter gear if you want to climb anything in that neighborhood.
EDIT: I'm afraid that my only picture from the summit is roughly potato quality... I'm not a big hiking photo guy, and I only carry my phone. Things were so wet and cold up there that it wasn't cooperating.
