Default Dehydrating Ground Beef

Can anyone tell me how many cups of dried ground beef I would get from one pound fresh? In the past I've precooked a full meal and dehydrated that, but this time I want to try a couple of recipes that are calling for dehydrated amounts of food. Ex: 1/4 cup dehydrated ground beef. I'm trying to add up my calories for an upcoming trip and can't find this information anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't help with cups to pound conversions and they would be highly variable anyway, but meat is 70-75% water by weight, so expect about 1/4 the original weight for true fully dehydrated.

And if you can find it, "Machaca" is a traditional Mexican shredded dried beef that is far preferable to dehydrated ground by all culinary standards, although like jerky not quite as dry so a little heavier.

Hey, you've probably come across this site already, but I've been using it this past week to prep meals for a trip. Doesn't exactly have the ratios you're looking for, but some tips for dehydrating ground beef:

I'm also curious to know what you end up with!
