Powdered Peanut Butter

My cousin just bought a jar of this from the food Co-op in Bellingham and she says it's quite good:

Anybody try this stuff? Sounds like it has potential.

What's the point of eating 85% less fat PB - you eat it for the fat.

They freeze dried Skippy? Nooooooooooooooooo[:0]

BillyGoat 04-26-2012 08:17 PM

Problem is it's hard dehydrating fat

I disagree. Some people, perhaps even the majority, eat if for the taste.

If you eat it for the fat, then it doesn't matter if it's "peanut butter" or something else, just bring some other fat along.

Could it be as tasty as powdered milk? perhaps you could use it to patch drywall?

mountainnerd 04-27-2012 07:10 AM

It would go great with powdered toast.

The thing is DCIPHER, for people who are out on multi-day traverses and big trips we ARE eating PB for the calories, specifically the fat calories. Crackers are merely a transport mechanism for substances like PB or cream cheese.

Oh hey wow!
Powdered peanut butter! thank god. I was really beginning to lose faith in the pointlessness of being.

Take a jar of that out into the woods, and a jar of this https://www.clubtread.com/forumPix/347000/347462.jpg to go along with it, and then all you would need is some water... and peanut butter, and voila! you have some peanut butter and water, and two cans of pointless shit.

I think it could have potential. I've been grinding almonds and using black sesame pdr in a breakfast drink. I'm a little wary of over-processed food that isn't bacon (which receives diplomatic immunity) so I wonder how they get rid of the fat?

Could be a good addition to instant oatmeal (with chocolate or dried bananas). Maybe Thai wraps.

Certainly that is the case for some, including on occasion myself. In which case, as I said, it doesn't matters what fat is being ingested.

Making an issue of having fat removed from this peanut butter only matters if you want the taste of peanut butter. If you're merely eating for fat, then the issue is irrelevant, this product isn't for you, but there are innumerable alternatives :-)

Id like to try this. I love pb, so of this is an option, I'm game! The only thing I would worry about is prep. I don't want to have to have a mixing bowl to prep it.

Isn't this just peanut flour?
