Big light tents
Picked up a Golite Shangri-la 8 last week on a whim, (no inner), and now I have a giant 10'x20' double pyramid for family trips where I have a base camp. Big debate though, do I keep it as is, or split it up into 2 pyramids? there is enough fabric that I should be able to do that with minor (considering silnylon) effort, on the other hand it's the kind of tent that you can't find anymore, and at 2.8kg able to sleep 8+ is pretty nice (800g less if I use sticks for poles).
The other question is does anyone have a good source for lightweight fabric? mainly looking for no-see-um mesh and silnylon, hoping there is a source in Canada as shipping from the US is always a pain between exchange rate, duties and shipping costs. Make a few inners for this tent for bug country and a variety of other projects
The tent poles extend to about 6'8 so I can actually almost stand straight in this thing. This wasn't a proper pitch yet, looks much nicer when you pitch it taut
