I have been using the Notch all season and love it. I have the poles as well for that very reason, but I find the velcro slides up the poles because there is nothing to attach it to and as a result the bottom of the tent lifts up so I prefer to use my poles. Something as simple as some duct tape around the bottom should prevent them from sliding up though.

Another limitation is the fact that it is not free standing. If you're planning on being anywhere with wooden tent pads or rocky/hard ground that you can't get a peg in, it can be a pain becuase it needs to be pegged out to stand up - I encountered both this year. ;o)
