Default New MEC in Langley

I just noticed a sign on the window of the old SportMart in Willowbrook saying a new MEC will opening up there in the summer of 2013. I personally cant wait, and think it is long over due.

That's great I really don't like driving to Van or North Van. Made me curtail my trips to the co-op. Good for everyone up the valley. Smart move on someones behalf. Probably got rid of some snobby directors who thought the valley folk don't go outdoors.

Sounds cool but I don't think this will be a full-sized store. A little googling says the Sport Mart was 7750 sq ft vs 44000 sq ft for the Vancouver store.

Full-sized stores don't have stock either. but easy to order in to a local store, whatever size.

A good thing, they are spreading around. Nice to see this kind of enthusiasm.

Funny enough the clothing store next to it was having a closing sale. They may be able to get the whole building since the Rogers video shut down there too.

My allegiance has in recent years turned more towards REI, but a more easily accessible MEC for us eastern valley folk will be a welcome thing.
