A couple of my oldest bits are a Sierra Designs Flashlight tent from 1990 (bought it from REI for $90) and an MSR Whisperlite international from 1991. The Whisperlite is still used frequently, and I'd still use the Flashlight if going solo.

I just got a pair of x-army field glases model M16.
Nothing to carry in your backpack, but they are wery good, and no focus promlems. Bausch & Lomb has realy made some long lasting ones there.

My guess is made about 1940ies.

I gotta admit i replaced my 1970 Woods brand down sleeping bag with a MEC bag last year.

My frame pack is a Bergans of Norway from 1974.
