It's annoying when you lose gear, especially when you bring it on a trip and don't end up using it. My crampons disappeared, when working on the the North Creek Cabin (BCMC) trip this year. Not sure they were in my BP when trail clearing??? But searched pretty much everywhere. Costly gear to replace, when it does go missing.[B)]

Great to hear people making the effort to return gear.

Victoria area:

I lost my sweet Victorinox compass in the Scafe Hill / Stewart Mountain area of Thetis Lake Park.

I found a full can of Kokanee on the same hike.

Will trade the Kokanee for the compass (I promise it will be cold)

I was going to post this in the climbing forum, but...

Do you climb in Gowland-Tod Park?

I found these cans. Are they yours? There were more, PM me to collect.

I remember losing a new pair of Black Diamond Guide gloves at a mountain hut ages ago. (The Abbott Pass Hut for you Albertans.) I suppose I didn't really lose them because I realized the day after that I forgot them at the hut.

I thought about going back up to retrieve them but after thinking about the slog to Lake Ohara followed by a scramble up a pathetic choss filled gully only to face the possibility that they were gone just wasn't worth it. Even if the gloves cost me $140.

Oh yeah, I also promised a partner of mine that I'd meet him at the Columbia Icefields the day after that so I had no choice but to pay $120 for a new pair of overpriced gloves at Wilson Sports in Lake Louise. (I was visiting from Toronto and had no car.)

Now that was annoying and painful !

I found a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses on our trip up Mist Mtn a couple months back.

Prior to that I found a handle for a shovel halfway up to Chester Lake. Odd, since it was mid summer.

I lost my Leatherman multi-tool on a beach on Harrison lake in the summer of 2001.
This stretch of beach is usually flooded at least once or twice a year.
I return to it most summers for an extended camping trip.
Guess what I found while digging in the sand in the summer of 2004?
My Leatherman!! Yeah!
Bairly a spot of rust on it too.
Now that's quality.

I found this funky ring climbing up Mt. Doom a while back.
Will trade for big flying lizard and bucket of stinky fish.

Lost my Garmin Rhino 130 GPS somewhere in the lost creek FSR area, either on the road, or up lost creek itself.
