Default Jasper - July 5-9 2017

We camped at Robson Meadows 4 nights and commuted to Jasper each morning for 2 new hikes and a redo of Sulphur Skyline where we were robbed of views because of clouds 10 years ago.
Our first view of Mt Robson were the best we've ever seen....clear blue skies Wednesday to Friday.
Thursday we went up the Maligne Valley to hike Opal Hills, but it was closed for Bear activities. Second choice was Watchtower Basin which was in the forest with mud and mosquitoes for 2 1/2 hours before the views of the basin.
Friday we hiked up the Geraldine Lake trail with excellent scenery in 30 minutes. It was very hot so we toured Athabasca Falls after the hike for a refreshing hour in the mist.
Saturday we awoke to hazy skies from the fires in the Little Fort area. Our trip to Sulphur Skyline was much better than last time.

Great stuff Mr B. Interesting idea, commute to JNP from Robson "base camp". CGs around Jasper are fully booked through August. I usually stay @ Wapiti but it is too expensive (for campground).

Looking at Geraldine photos, think you turned back below that steep headwall next to waterfall leading to 2nd lake. One can continue further up to 3,4 and 5th lake -- and even cross over to Fryatt valley. Fantastic alpine!

I usually stay at the Jasper overflow campground, never seems to run out of space.
