hey Peter my days off are Mon. and Tues. so if that works for you at some point I'd love to hike Opal again...trail being open of course.
Yes Dieter it was a very good day, decided I have a serious crush on Opal! lol and finally great weather on our mutual days off! lol hope you got to enjoy them as well.

I also thought it was the OPAL in K-Country, which I did 10 or so years ago, but I didn't think I it looked this good then....

Come to think of it, I didn't make it to the top anyway Went with an 18 year old (I was 36) and got my butt handed to me even then <sigh>

lol I didn't set any speed records this trip either! but the cold wind certainly kept me motivated to move!

Nice open barren area. That photo of you by the peak shows what appears to be new recent fresh snow, does look rather cool.
