My apologies for the delay on this. |
Thanks to the admin for putting the effort in to give us some new banners. Can't argue with the latest selection either.

Congrats Zeljkok, great pic! :)

Thanks guys; feels really good to have photo on banner after being with CT for > 5 yrs. Also big thanks to VSdmin for organizing this on continuing basis. I hope next time more people contribute as there are awesome photographers here!
Few words about the pic for you outside Alberta that might not be familiar with location & might decide to visit: Upper Kananaskis Lake is in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park in Kananaskis Country; it is (just) outside Banff National Park. You access via Hwy40, also called "Kananaskis Trail", that splits off Trans-Canada about 40-45 min west from Calgary. The area is somewhat developed as you have several campgrounds, William Watson lodge / trading post, etc. In winter there is network of well-known X-country ski trails, and in summer it offers some really classic Rockies hiking. Trail goes around the upper lake for some 16km to close the loop, it is mainly flat and really great scenery wise. At west end of the lake is Point Backcountry Campground. It is at very scenic spot and great for beginner backpacks, or backpacks with kids. It can be reached in less than 2 hours of easy pace from Interlakes parking lot at end of the road. Pano was taken on lake shore just in front of the camp sites that are sheltered in the woods. I never camped here but it must feel really great to just sit here in the evening -- or wake up to and watch sunrise. To the right is mount Sarrail, that can be scrambled from the back approaching via Aster Lake backcountry trail. |
Awesome photo, Zeljkok. This is a grand master of pictures among the beautiful shots you often present here.

Outstanding pic, as usual.

It's been over a year. Time for a new banner?
|
No offence Zeljkok, but it's been almost three years....
Time for a new look! |

LOL. Why would I be offended? I'd like to see new banner myself too But someone needs to work on it. There have been pleads for ~2 months now to fix missing photos in classic Judge report (scroll down), but nothing has been done https://forums.clubtread.com/27-brit...end-judge.html |
No surprise from our absentee landlords...
"You understand that we have no obligation to monitor any bulletin boards, chat rooms, web logs, or other areas of the Web Site through which users can supply information or material." Remember Dayle? She tried. |

Yes. I was quite hopeful at that time. She also had some awesome map based projects in works, and that was all called off (although I believe she is still around). Keep posting knowing there won't be any support. Site is up to us users. |

Looks like the photos are back but they're small and you can't click on them to expand.

Yes, he just hacked it with cached thumbs. I'm afraid big ones are gone. I was at Anza club at BCMC meeting when Marek was giving this presentation. Lots of people known in Coast outdoor community were there; it was quite special. It is important to preserve it. For big ones I guess you have to get up Judge yourself now :) |
