Might not work. I can see eye-brows being raised when I tell them about my hikes.
e.g. "Although I didn't bring any people with me on my 3 day hike, at least I still had Sex."[:I]

You're not quite as desperate as me yet (wife and 3 daughters), but if it's time to level the odds a bit and bring up the male content, you'll need to use a manly moniker. Here's my 5-bits worth with reasons...

Blade - Sturdy and dependable, like the Buck, Leatherman or Swiss army knife on your belt.
Rambler - Self Explanatory, the perfect hiking companion's name
Copper - This natural resource has an earthy feel, and appears to be a nice match to the handsome little fellow's glossy coat.
Twister - Very natural, nicely describes the path most dogs take up a hiking trail (not so linear).
Boomer - Airedales are fairly swift, like a sonic boom, + his bark will be fairly booming if a bear comes sniffing around your tent

Have fun choosing!

I named my dogs by the first(or third) name that poped into my mind in the first minute or two of seeing them.

Mine (jack russels) are named Bistro(almost Gojo), and Abby.
Yours looks like a Bradley (Usually I can get 3 or so within a few seconds, but Bradley seems to stick.).

Good luck.
Remember, it's easier to train/call your dog when his/her name is unique(or at least seldom heard).

Take'r easy
