She would look even better if not for the lipoma growing on her right side abdomen. Yes, yet another one. May have to come off soon.

She got a nice compliment on today's hike...
Fellow hikers: How old is he?
Me: She is 12.
Fellow hikers: Wow, she's killing it. Look at her go.

Funny that you mention lipoma. I just went the other week to ultrasound to check myself -- got 3 in abdomen, 3 in right leg and few more elsewhere, all recent. Dr says just leave them. Maybe you are right about these pepperoni sticks after all

Well that sucks. Hopefully they don't continually grow, as they do with Katie. Some people and dog breeds are prone to them. Vet assured me they are not diet related.

No, I think most of all its stress related, for ppl at least. I got 1 in left arm 15 yrs now and it's pretty much the same size. If there was no Covid maybe I'd just go to take them out, but really don't want anywhere near hospitals right now

But hiking and what you are doing is really important, for people and dogs. Physically, mentally, everything. Katie will live to celebrate 16th b-day, mark my words.

That's awesome

Luna was getting the "Oh nice puppy" comments up til quite recently, but she's 16 now and just a walk to the park is enough for her.

Gotha (north peak) and Windsor loop today. We had the day and place to ourselves above Deeks Lake. The route to Gotha and up the south side of Windsor has no trail or markers/flagging. Bush is minor (below the hips). Any snow is avoidable.

Mt. MacFarlane, Upper Pierce Lake and Mt. Pierce yesterday. First time tagging both peaks in the same trip. Very proud of Katie.
Came across Greg and his buddy Ralph on MacFarlane and we all joined up to hit up Mt. Pierce. Ascended Pierce via the south ridge (new to them) and descended via the grassy/flower slopes on the east side (new to Katie and I).
No trail or markers along the south ridge to Pierce. Routefinding, bush, minor scrambling, and even one belly crawl under a small, gnarly little tree.
Another fantastic day up high.

Some gloomy Mt. Webb pictures from yesterday on this beautifully sunny Sunday morning. Lots of upgrades to the trail to Radium since we were last up 7-8 years ago. New decking on the suspension bridge, new aluminum bridges, cedar boardwalks through the marshy areas, and even some recent bush clearing all the way to Radium. I didn't rub shoulders with bush at all to that point.

J & K hike for the views? You should know better than that by now. Truth be told, she was nosing around in that bush when I gave a quick "k" for a picture. That explains the look of bewilderment. You are probably correct regarding the sardines...she probably thought that is what I was calling her for. I don't know how people can hike without a dog. : )
