Housing developements too close to trails?

Recently, I was looking up at Eagle Ridge in Coquitlam and noticed that still more high-density housing developements are being built further up the ridge. How much longer will it be before these developements start encroaching on hiking trails? Is there a boundary as to how far they can build? Or will the developements just continue up the ridge indefinitely?

I think the will be limited by the BC Hydro land near Buntzen Lake. As far as I know they are reaching their limits before they are on Hydro turf.

If the world doesn't blow up in the next century, homes will be built on or near the shores of Buntzen and other desirable/unobtainable locations in the lower mainland...

Residental housing won't go above 350m el. in the lower mainland. For the moment anyway.
