It's definitely going to be cold!

I'm really surprised that there hasn't been much precip yet. I suspect that the snow fields on Ptarmigin could be a little slippery now...definitely crampon and ice axe stuff. That's why I'm leaning towards Yellow Aster because it's a little easier for people without mountaineering gear.

See you on the mountain!

Probably below the butte right beside those tarns. It wont be the first time I have had to chop my way through the ice to get water with my ice axe.

See you on the mountain!

We had snow up in the Mt. Roderick area this weekend. Saturday was a glorious day -- sunny and warm, looking down on the clouds in the valleys and up at the peaks (will post some pics in the am). But we woke to snow this morning! The vis was pretty poor so we didn't hike up to the peak this morning. The hike out through the alpine was a winter wonderland, with some slippery bits. We were the only ones in the area the entire weekend. Pretty cool for a spot so close to Vancouver. I'd love to get out next weekend too, but can't

I would love to hike during the week but does anyone want to do a hike on a Sunday/Monday? Overnighter? I'm in the fraser valley area and I can never seem to get anyone to go out at all

I shall reverse the earths' polarity and send the moon hurdling into the sun.
