Default Overseas hiking

I've been eyeballing various hikes overseas. Thinking of making a special trip somewhere in the next year or two. Has anyone done any overseas - especially higher altitude ones? I was looking at Kilimanjaro. The biggest expense is getting over there. I've read that there are 3 primary trails leading to the various peaks. The heavily trodden highest peak is an 7-8 day trail. There are guides as well that you can get with. I've seen them between 500 and 800USD. Not too bad for that kind of experience. I was talking to someone else who told me that you can usually get it for 300 when you get there but who wants to take that kind of risk. Here's some links I have found so far. If anyone has been on one or knows of someone who has I'd love to hear about it.

The only hiking which I have done overseas has been in Great Britain. I have my eyes set on Italy's Dolomites or or something in Iceland if I win the Lotto.

See you on the mountain!

One of my best friends did Kilamanjaro a couple of years ago. I could probably hook you up with her if you send me your email address: [email protected]
