Default B1..... for flies...... ???

Vitamin B1 to repell flies???

A friend of mine said she took vitamin B1 for a week prior to going camping last weekend. Apparently the flies were relentless. Everyone in the group was more or less eaten alive. Except that is for my friend who took the B1 Vitamins.

Have any of you ever heard of this?? Can anyone confirm this?

I've heard things such as bananas are not good to eat because when you sweat, it comes out your pores and for some reason atracts flies. I've heard garlic will help repell flies if eaten, but B1 is a new one for me.

Flies seem bad this year. I've noticed more animals on the roads too which could indicate a bad fly year.

Keep on trekking

I've been getting eaten alive this year too... That would be interesting to know if that is the case. BTW, I think garlic repells everything including your spouse..

I'll try anything!

There was some golfer on TV the other day with a dryer sheet sticking out of the back of his hat. He said it kept the bugs away. I was going to try it last weekend but I forgot... anyone heard of this?

A reverse tip... I have some KineSys sunscreen.. It is the spray on stuff in the smaller bottles. I bought it thinking that it would be convenient as I don't get my hands all oily and it is in a small container. Be forewarned, its a bug magnet!

Are you sure the golfer wasn't covering up for a static cling accident?
