Default Swoolen Feet

When I got back I noticed my running shoes were pretty tight. We had put two long days in sequentially and were carrying reasonably heavy packs. We logged about 45KM in 2 days, one of them being wet feet for the 25KM. Is this normal? They're starting to return to normal but I am curious. My hiking partner Jimbo noticed the same thing happened to him.

I can't say that I've ever suffered swollen feet, but I could see how 45k in 2 days might bring that on.
I went from Blowdown Pass in the Stein to the Cable Crossing in 3 days and suffererd from soggy foot-itus(from sweat). I had cotton socks on (did not know better at the time) it was like I had my feet in the tub for few too many hours, they were so wrinkled so bad I almost could not separate the folds of wrinkled skin without breaking the skin..........(hope know one was eating)

Cheers
Dave

It was strange... I would have thought it abnormal but my hiking partner experienced the same thing... Maybe its something in the oatmeal.. We did hike most of the 25K with several ounces of water in our boots. That may have contributed as well. Managed to squeeze my feet into my sneakers this evening a score a bronze in a volleyball tourney... <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>
