In an effort to try and remember just where the heck I've been lately, and all the fantastic trip reports posted here, I added a page to my personal site with links to the topics. Now if I can only maintain the list I'll be happnin' <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

I'd rather be hiking!

Hiker Boy is right, because some of te shortest outings I've done this year have been the best-ie.Howe Sound Crest to St Mark's summit(11 km),the Parker Ridge Trail in the Rockies(2.4 km),Elfin Lakes(23 km),a 15 km out and back on the Iceline Trail in Yoho, and Glacier Park's Great Glacier Trail(4.8 km).Just getting outside is so important!
Hey Pat,sounds like you are really ready for that race-hope you do well!Which one is it you are shooting for?Someday I dream of finishing the Wasatch Front 100-two years ago I ran a 9 mile section of the course on our first holiday to Utah. But there is the matter of the other 91 miles.I've developed a neuroma lately that is preventing me from running over 40 kms on the trails.Doh!Not another surgery,I hope.
Speaking of fun,we did a 10 km hike to Dog Mountain and surrounding area today!Great views, and not too much climbing either Mick

Having caught the fishing bug this year (although I'm not having alot of luck) I've severely cut down on my hiking...only at about 75km & 2200m elevation gain.

Mick,
Thanks I feel fairly prepared. The run is Cascade Crest (by Snoqualmie pass) and it has around 21,000 ft elevation gain and loss.
Wasatch is indeed beautiful and is the site of my only DNF (injured my foot). However, with the 40 miles on race day combined with the training I did there (while on vacation)I have run the whole course. Stunning, tough, trails. Will try and redeem myself there within the next couple of years.
Hope your injury settles down.
Cheers,
Pat
