Default Gold Creek Bridge Open

The Gold Creek Bridge in Golden Ears Park is now open as of today. They had the ribbon cutting ceremony this morning. The Minister, MLA's, Park staff, Search & Rescue and volunteers from RMOC were on hand. They also announced $100,000 towards a foot bridge on the Upper Gold Creek area. Details to follow as we decide on it's location. Hopefully near the old crossing near Hikers Beach off the East Canyon Trail. Thanks to John Hume (third from the right) who pushed for this project.

The weather isn\'t bad here. It only rained twice last week, the first time for three days and the second time for four days.

I know it scares me too. Most Aluminum Bridges run about $1000 per foot all included. With helicopter time, footing materials, labour, and engineering, it really adds up. Access time adds up to getting materials and workers into the area. Access trails have to be made at either end also. This bridge is nearly 100' across.
