LOL... Would love to take one of those Subaru Impreza WRX road rally cars out for a run! *drool!*

That pictures shows how I like to avoid the bumps on the road....travel at just the right speed and you sail over them!

See you on the mountain!

Those are 2 questions. About posting pictures here: I'd recommend you prepare the images by using a program that helps you adjust your photos so that they look great on a computer screen. This means that each is not too big for most people's screens, each is cropped to remove unnecessary parts and has a pleasing composition, and each has the brightness and contrast adjusted so it has some snap. Almost every picture can use some preparation. Save each image as a JPG in a place on your disk where you can find it easily.

To upload each begin with a new post or an answer to a thread. When you have the message form in front of you, you need to use the "upload' button, not the 'insert' button. This one (click the image to see the full size diagram):

The picture will appear in your text at the insertion point. That's all you have to do. Upload the pictures to a posting and click the 'Post New Reply' button and wait for the oohs and aahs from the viewers.

About the second question: sending emails with large attached files (e.g. photographs) to anyone is annoying, expecially if the person receiving it has dialup Internet. It is better to post the pictures at a web site and invite your friends to download them. Don't use this site for that. Obtain a web site (many are for free with ads) and post them there.

Hope this helps.

Hey thanks Howesound!
I appreciate the help. This is pretty much what I have been doing. With the upload button anyway. I have not been saving annything to disk though. Just on my hard drive. And when i did click the upload button and it gives me a choice to "browse", I picked the appropriate photo(s). But nothing happened. Just the little boxes with the "X" showed in my post.
Still looking for the final solution.
Any other advice out there??

Hi, Q,
How big are the files you're trying to upload? I notice in your post you haven't mentioned compressing any of them.

it sounds like you've found the right buttons etc. but here's the
step by step (pun not intended):
-click the "upload an image" button, the upload window pops up
-click "browse" button
-select an appropriately formatted picture, under ~1MB in size (the allowed formats are writtedn on the left side of the upload window.
-add details if you wish
-click "upload now" button, the window will close on its own when upload is complete
-something like this [ctImg]27487[ct/Img] shows up at the bottom.
-Move it to where you want on the screen.

hard to tell where you went wrong.
oh wait...
Here's the code of your try at the 2 images from the shower post:
<img src="" border="0"><br /><img src="" border="0">
the image link information is missing beween the " "

So my guess is your upload wasn't complete, and if you got the message saying it wass too big, you'll have to resize it.
I'm not sure what photo viewing program you use, but there's usually a resize/resample feature, usually under edit. Play with it to reduce the end file size (remember to COPY as not to change the original)

hope this helps
OH and use the preview button, if should show there.

Inserting an image is like inserting a link to an URL. You just need to post the location of where that image is stored online between the [img ww . your.image.jpg /img] things. I like to upload to my own personal webspace and then use the insert image function because I finde that there is less of a picture compression/loss of resolution issue than when using the upload feature.
