Default RCMP seeks the Public's Assistance

I am the lead investigator in the missing person case of Jonathan Jette and Rachael Bagnall who went missing while hiking/scrambling in the Saxifrage and Cassiope area north of Pemberton and Mount Currie in September of 2010. Their vehicle was located on the Spetch Creek FSR however despite an extensive search, no sign of the couple was located. I would ask anyone hiking or climbing in the area to keep an eye out for any sign of the couple. If you see anything that might be of interest, (none of their gear was ever recovered), please contact me at (604) 905-1965 or by email at steve.leclair@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. You can also go to www.canadasmissing.ca for further info and photos.

Thanks to all!

Their getting lost without a trace, is quite a mystery. I have this couple on my mind ever since, hoping they would be found.

Wish you good luck and results on this, hoping someone would come forward.

being another lesser snowpack year and quick meltout so far, may help to produce some clues or evidence, hope some closure can be found for 2015

Good to see attention is still being given to this search.

Those peaks are high on my list for this summer's excursions. I will keep them and your post in mind when I'm up there.

A while back I was in contact with Jonathan's mom and was shocked to find out that the local residents were not interviewed or canvassed and that this was treated like straight missing hikers case. It is extremely unlikely for two hikers to go missing without a trace.

Exactly how I feel about this one too...

And also another of single young man, well over 6 foot, big and strong who did a solo trip, never to be heard from again..

Default Jonathan Jette and Rachael Bagnall

Hi everyone,

I am Jonathan's mom. I want to thank everyone who will take the time to look after my son Jonathan and Rachael. Me and my husband will be there in August to search some areas. A lot of people think it is very mysterious but the police thinks they had an accident on the mountain. Please don't forget them. Thank you very much.

Glad you are still on the case, Staff Sergeant Steve LeClair. This has been a mysterdy, and I hope something is found on what happened to them and then family could find some kind of closure.

We saw the posted signs when we went up last year and given that there was nearly no snow pack took some effort to see if we could find old gear, backpack or anything. Sadly we saw nothing on the standard regular approaches on either Saxifrage or Cassiope. What was the weather like when they went missing? Did they have clear weather or encounter white out conditions? Wondering if they would have deviated significantly from the standard ascents, it would be very easy to get off route in that terrain.
