So I'm reviewing my trip plans for tomorrow in light of a general forecast of rain showers and thunderstorms. Cypress Bowl via Sunset Trail is buried on my to-do list and looks promising, but I can't find any recent reports.

Anyone been up recently? Is the trail maintained?

Not sure if this is "recently" but I hiked it last summer and it was in good condition, a few large logs down but nothing serious. Very steep, especially the middle section, but no difficulty. I hiked it one direction, down, and it would have been a pretty serious workout going up. Going down was mainly a workout for the knees. There is a brilliant viewpoint about halfway but otherwise there isn't much to see.
