Default Primate on the loose!

This primal man has heard the call of the wild. This summer the wife and I want to hike across BC along the TCT! We have experience with LONG TERM camping and survival, what we are here for is to gain tips and perhaps find the best places to camp and restock supplies along our path.

Been here a few days and this feels like a great place with great people, glad to be here.

I should add I am looking for adventure. I want to see lakes, rivers, caves, glaciers, giant redwoods, the coast, mountains, the grand valleys, orchards and rain forests. Amazingly this is all possible in BC. I love this country.

I've done epic canoe adventures, portaging deep into the wild, in winter and summer. From ontario to Alberta, working my way west. I've lived in the forest for months at a time. One thing I am inexperienced with is mountains.

We want to experience everything BC has to offer. We have no time limit! Only climate to guide us.

We have looked into WOOFing opportunities and hostels all along the trail.

The trail stories shared here are inspiring and encouraging, I just can't wait for spring!

Nice to meet you. "Earth does not belong to the man, man belongs to the Earth" I like that. Too bad most people don't see it that way.

Thanks for the links! The Yukon is indeed a goal of mine in the future. My soul loves to be in places that remain wild and are void of people.
I expect we will be stealth camping some of the time as many of our routes may deviate from designated hiking trails. Paying for a guided tour is not my cup of tea, but that 12 day hike looks awesome, if not a little scary!
We thought that lower mainland BC would be a good place to start and hone our skills. Over the summer we hope to acquire the skills that will prepare us for the more extreme climate and territory in Yukon/Alaska, perhaps next year!?

Do you have any particular places in mind? Here are few pics of a popular hike around here( minus the glacier travel ) that me and my wife really enjoy:

Wedgemount + NE Arete - January 10, 2015

And this is the backpacking trip i will do in August this summer with some friends:

Just two examples but the possibilities are endless

I will just ad, since you mentioned you are not experienced with mountains, to bear in mind elevation gain and loss is tough when you are not used to it.

It's looking like we are going to start in Vancouver and head east to Kelowna where a friend has a house we will be renting. We should have 2 full months to check out trails while we hike there along the TCT.

Wedgemount looks amazing, but seems everywhere in BC looks that way to me, the possibilities are indeed endless! Thanks for the suggestions.
