Question Winter parking fees in Mt Baker area?

I was wondering if the day parking fees are still in effect in Mt Baker area even in the winter time when none of the road/trails are actually maintained?

Probably best to just phone them up and ask but I suspect it is:
- If you park below the snow-line then you need your regular forest pass.
- If you park in a special sno-park above the snow line then you need a special sno-park permit.
- If you park at the ski resort, then you can park for free.

That is what I figure as well, parking at the ski resort is the only area where you can park for free.

Officially, I think the rule is that once you are in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest you need to have the permit; however, there is some confusion as to where the border lies. Even on the official website (http://www.fs.usda.gov/mbs) one of the maps inclues the town of Glacier, and another one doesn't.

Additionally, I think the pass is only required for parking at trailheads/picnic areas/etc, at least this is what the their website says, and that's how it works on Glacier Creek Road. So in the winter they are usually not important because you can't drive to the trailhead.

I think parking at the ski resort in the summer might require a pass, but in the winter it doesn't.

I guess I will call them, as I can drive with 4x4 and chains to some trailheads that are in the snow
