could you name some peaks, or list some trail names? How far did you have to travel from Yuma? How did you get info on these trails? More info please. The desert hiking there looks very nice. Thanks for the TR!

Hi
good questions, I was new to the area but my buddy had some preliminary information that we used a few times. Later, we went with some folks who knew the areas quite well, and knew those little twists and turns that locals know. For a start, this is where most of the pictures were taken.

Also some from here, but didn't get to the top as it had too much loose rock for us:

Hope this helps.

Very sweet PostHaste. Your report brings back memories of my visit to this area in December 2003. I did some hiking and rock climbing in the mountains west of Bouse and northeast of Quartzite.

A pretty place. One has to be careful of the scorpions and rattlers though. !

Cool! Looks a bit like the lower basin around Lake Meade below the dam. Eldorado canyon
and such. I have a good friend from Yuma. I will head down there and unload some of my
pounds of dark root beer colored calcite and trade the rock traders around quartzite.
Nice pictures! I love the lower desert.
