I thought it was really good game last night, came right down to the last second of the third period and they once again demonstrated that no lead is a safe lead against them. Getzlaf got a little over zealous on his first game back and shouldn't have left his feet on that hit but I certainly don't think he intended to hurt anyone.
I dont know if I agree with the way two of the articles called for the addition of a tough guy, if anything it's not the hits the Canucks take that frustrate me as much as how often they let opponents fall all over their goal tenders. Even for goal tender crunching though, I dont think the Nucks need to add any toughness, they should simply return the favour every single time it happens.
Truth of the matter is, your not going to beat the Canucks from the penalty box and I think every team out there knows that, which is not bad protection in it's own right.
I dont like seeing players hurt period but, if your going to take a bunch of injuries on your D this is probably the least painful time of the season for it to happen because almost all will be back in time for the playoffs and fresh, unlike what happened to Malkin... OUCH!
The Nucks dont have to worry about their playoff spot anyway so they can deal with this adversity.
