Default Tetrahedron Park Cabins ready for winter

Thanks to many volunteers the firewood airlift has been completed, some 24,000 lbs of firewood was flown in by Helicopter. Only a light dusting of snow up high hopefully some winter storms will bring some good dumps.
Please remember your cabin fees go towards thing like repairs and airlifting firewood and plowing the road etc. Have a great winter season.

Fresh snow on mtn Elphinestone so should be snow in the Tet Could be around 6 inches at mtn steele. The tet outdoor club is having a showing of the Best of Bannf film fest on Nov 28th at Gibsons High school. This is a big fundraiser for the club which takes care of the cabins etc. Get your snow tires and chains ready for going to the Tet. Road will not be plowed as well as in past years. Remember shovels and a tow rope can help alot. Cell phones do not work up there do not think you will be able to check in from up in the park. Some people called S&R last year when they could not get intouch with the friends by Cell.

Take care have a good snow season, Pleas slow down and expect to stop to allow traffic to pass road is narrow and many other users on the road. People walking dogs and riding bikes etc.

If you are going to go up to the Tet or any back road in winter you should get some Diamond back chains very easy to put on and give great traction compared to the cheap cable chains. Here is a link to Video on how easy they are to install.

Dec 5 report: bare all the way to upper parking. Some ice on lower trail, spikes were useful. Not much snow at Edwards cabin. Warm temps, nice rainy day hike. Very nice facilities, I wonder why we don't have similar facilities on the north shore.

Found this posted on Suncoastcentral by BC Parks from the Tet

Please note: The gate at the lower parking area for access to Tetrahedron Park has been closed for the winter season.

A 3cm of snow at the upper parking lot. Let's hope for more to come soon.

Alpha adventures just posted some new pics from Dakota today on there Facebook page which shows fresh snow in the trees at 3300ft colder weather and some fresh snow looking better. Hope some people coming out of the Tet will post info somewhere. Lakes will not be frozen good enough yet. Stay safe have fun.
