The first words out of my mouth when getting out of the car at the trailhead were "Damn it's cold up here this morning!". Tried to keep a fast pace to warm up quick, but with all the ice on the first stretch of trail (or stream bed), I had to take it easy.




Wherever water didn't flow, the trail was very dry, so travel was easy enough. No frost, wet rock or bushes, just cold. : )




More ice. Looks like some creature tried to walk on it overnight and it didn't work out. A cold/wet night for him/her, I am sure.

This 'look' still gives me a good laugh as I sit here. She just chased some sort of rodent into a crack in that boulder. I'm pretty certain the look she is giving me is a "Am I in trouble for this?". : )

More ice. It is the theme for our day, after all. : )




Was a great day. Cold, but no wind on the summit. As seems to be the case for most of our hikes, we had the place to ourselves. Well, except when we were almost done and hit the trail with the constant flow of people and dogs. : )

I'm envious you're getting out there so often whilst I'm stuck doing renos at home.
That look is the "I'm busted, aren't I? " look - my dog does it all the time mostly because he's always getting busted[B)] Katie was after pikas, probably, Seymour has lots of them

I want to know where this is! Picture #5 reminds me of the Artist Point Trail but I know it's not because you would have been very brave crossing the border on a long weekend and you would not see Baker from that angle. Do tell and thanks.

Yep, it is Elsay. At first I thought it was Seymour.
This shot is from a trip Simon and I did in like 2006 I think.

What a gorgeous day.

We were up at Crown Mtn under very similar conditions. Slipped on my butt three times but up top was dry as bone.

If this was the last bluebird day of this year, wow, it was a good one.

It is a good dog walk and fun hike. Not a lot of driving involved. Will have to do it in reverse direction next time. I just wish there was some way to avoid the crowds on the Seymour trail...sucks hiking with her on leash, for both of us.

j/k - what camera you all usin?

It's a Panasonic DMC-TS2, point & shoot. The only thing I don't like about it is how tempermental it is below 0. As an example, I had to stick it in my armpit for a couple of minutes to get the higher elevation shots on our last Laughington hike.
