Recently there has been talk in the US Congress of removing federal control of national forest land, in other words to transfer the land to state control for whatever the states want do do with it.
In Washington state much of the land is national forest, such as the Mt Baker - Snoqualmie NF, the most visited NF in the country.
It's unthinkable for hikers and others who visit the national forests that we might lose such land to development.

That is alarming. Just goes to show how short-sighted and narrow minded some politicians are. Not too bright at all.
