Default Butter Buds?????

hey everyone

I keep seeing butter buds in ALOT of recipes can anyone help me, what are butter buds?

is it a form of dried butter, is it a butter replacement, is it just a butter flavoring like molly mc butter??

Is there something else I could use instead of butter buds? where do you find them?

I live in lloydminster and we have a Nutters bulk food store here but even they don't have it.

thanks
Akela

Why would you not want the calories when you're hiking. Go straight for the Olive Oil...mmmm.

hey there

it's not a matter of not wanting the calories while hiking it's a matter of keeping the food as light as possible, still edible, tasting good, and dehydrated for the trail. I had no idea what it even was until now. As far as I can tell the only product that I know of that is probably the same is called Molly McButter.

thanks for the input

Butter Buds are an Americanism, Molly McButter is the Canadian version.
