I found mine at a little Home-Hardware on W 10th (UBC area)
I think they were about $2.99 each. Red, black, and blue.

That's exactly where I bought mine! 10th Avenue, just before Sasamat. On the North side of 10th.

The smaller Canadian tires don't carry them, but if you call the Cambie or N Van stores they ussually have plenty.......@ $3.99, but they're the longer ones so you have room for your pack on the back.

I saw a bunch at the Cdn Tire on Steveston Highway in Richmond not long ago.

I bought one last Sunday at the Canadian Tire near Burrard and West 1st. Cost was $2.99, and there were around 20+ left... then.
