It can't be too bad, as she is leading the way, right? We turned around shortly after...high winds and heavy sideways snowfall. About 20m shy of Mt. Harvey summit. Heavy snowfall for most of our day, but the only wind was this final ascent to the peak, so it was a very pleasant day. And yes, Katie agrees. : )

Happy New Year Katie!

Just out of curiosity -- why did you turn back 20m before summit?? I realize it was a whiteout & you wouldn't see a thing, but steepest part was already behind if you were already that close.

I think you had to be there, and with a 9 year Beagle mix to understand. I know I said "we" turned around soon after that photo was taken, but it was her that turned around and passed right by me. It wasn't the time or place to argue with her. The winds were getting stronger the higher we went and it just wasn't worth it.

We went back up today, but turned around as we hit the south ridge/old burn area. Winds were way too strong and she was looking for a tree-well to hide in. Heard a few "Is that Katie?" on our way up/down. Even a "Are you John?". Don't get that too often. : )

Bringing home 'the kill' from that Jan. 2nd trip up the Harvey trail. Never too old to beat up sticks. : )
